PHILOSOPHY

Of a wayward collection

The inspiration for WE ARE MUZE came about
with the collaboration of five Dutch based
fashion and jewellery designers.

After a successful project setting up a temporary
store in the Hazenstraat, in the heart of Amsterdam
in 2013, Conny Groenewegen, Jessica Joyce, Melanie
Brown and Natascha Nedoluha embarked on a new venture together, WE ARE MUZE.

WE ARE MUZE is a Dutch fashion platform with a story that will unfold in different ways. Together we have sculpted a whimsical persona, our muse, who enables us to showcase our individuality and strength whilst supporting each other on our artistic journeys.

Our muse is the pivotal persona in the WE ARE MUZE website, which is the beating heart of the collective. Everything we do feeds in and out of the website, where we are in direct contact with our public. We believe that the WE ARE MUZE community will grow and flourish through this mutual dialogue.

WE ARE MUZE creates its own unique universe. This universe is made up of a wide range of fashion professionals who add to the project’s rhythm and aesthetics. The collective has a fluid construction allowing it to work with art directors, photographers, film directors, stylists, graphic designers and fashion designers.

Like-minded creatives are invited to work with us on different projects; such as our website, our editorials and our Parisian presentations, as well as showrooms and international trade fairs.
Everyone who is part of the WE ARE MUZE journey facilitates us passing on knowledge to aspiring colleagues in the fashion industry.

Using our muse as a language to develop new partnerships, we want to touch the senses, and spark the imagination whilst promoting the Dutch fashion industry internationally.

WE ARE MUZE was born out of the Partners for International Business Programme from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland). Their support gives us the opportunity to set up a strong base from which our collective can grow, shaping itself while it evolves, its unique strength stemming from the fact that it is a platform made by designers for designers.
